The 79th Street corridor of Miami has been designated a foreign trade zone by PortMiami, positioning the area for a financial boost as the first economically disadvantaged urban area to receive such a designation.
Foreign trade zone designations create job opportunities for the people who reside within the area and, in the case of the 79th St. Corridor, will create a trade and logistics hub, as the city stretch lies in close proximity to PortMiami, Miami International Airport, the Miami River, downtown Miami and Interstate 95.
